The black non-woven ground cover is permeable enough to allow water exchange for plant growth, but opaque enough to prevent weed growth.
The black non-woven ground cover was developed to be as light transmissive as possible and fairly weed resistant. Unlike Polyethylene mulch film, it remains highly permeable to air and water, maintaining a healthy soil structure, preventing puddling, and if necessary allowing fertilizer application. It is important to note that if fertilizer is used with this product, it must be used underneath the non-woven ground cover to avoid chemical damage to the material. This will require the use of a liquid fertilizer and drip tape application to ensure uniformity of your application and avoid damaging the non-woven ground cover.
This black non-woven ground cover allows more water to pass through quickly compared to regular ground cover. Gardeners also use it between crop rows.
