In 1883, a mention highlighted its similarity to the green oak leaf, differing only in the brown tint of its foliage. Fortunately, this excellent lettuce has not fallen into total oblivion and is now back in the spotlight! Like its green-leaved cousin, it is very resistant to bolting, which occurs late in the fall, allowing for a long harvest period.
