3. HOW DO WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Dubois will use your personal information only for the purposes specified below:
- Offering our loyalty and warranty programs, offering our products and services, and communicating with you about these programs, products and services.
- Providing information and updates on Dubois activities and events, including personalized emails and newsletters.
- Preventing errors and fraud.
- Confirming and verifying your identity.
- Communicating with customers, newsletter subscribers and people who attend Dubois events or use the services offered on the Dubois website www.duboisag.com and in Dubois stores.
- Replying to inquiries related to Dubois’ business operations.

- Your account activity, balance and payment history.

In connection with our programs, products, services, promotions, contests and events, we may share personal information with our service providers. These service providers help us run our business, operate our technology systems and applications and our infrastructure, and implement our internal procedures and our advertising and marketing strategy. *Implied consent is presumed permission to share information with a contact for a limited period of time. Such permission is obtained in connection with an interaction or a transaction. Unlike explicit consent, which does not expire, implicit consent expires after a maximum of 24 months, depending on the reason for which it was acquired:
- Transaction (24 months): purchase of a good or service, registration for an event.
- Interaction (6 months): information request.
This type of consent is permitted in Canada under Canada’s anti-spam legislation.

Dubois will obtain your express, free and informed consent to collect, use and disclose your personal information.
When you provide Dubois with personal information by filling out and completing the fields and forms on www.duboisag.com, or when you provide Dubois with such personal information by otherwise communicating with Dubois, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected.
Such consent may be obtained in writing, verbally, electronically or through an authorized Dubois representative. If you do not consent to the collection, use and/or sharing of your personal information, we may not be able to provide you with the products and services requested, or the handling of your file may be compromised.
You may withdraw your consent to the disclosure and use of your personal information at any time, except in limited circumstances, including where we are bound by legal or regulatory requirements or where you have contractual obligations to us.
We will inform you of the consequences of such withdrawal of consent, including the possibility that we may no longer be able to supply a product or process your request.

6. HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES?
We want you to clearly understand your choices and make informed decisions about your privacy options. You have a number of options for managing your preferences. Cookies also help us obtain data on site traffic and provide relevant information to our marketing department to create better-tailored offers and promotions.
Dubois shares its Google Analytics data with Google, which then defines audiences and creates lists for cross-device remarketing. To do this, Google Analytics will collect Google-authenticated identifiers and temporarily link them with Dubois data.

If you have an account with us (a professional account, for example), you can update your preferences directly in your customer account when given the option to do so by the program, product or service in question. Note also:

Dubois follows industry best practices for the protection of personal information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and will use security safeguards (physical, technical or administrative) appropriate to the sensitivity of the information in question in order to prevent and defend against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, destruction or disclosure of your personal information.
We use masking, anonymization, encryption, logging and monitoring of your personal information.
B. WHERE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS STORED
In general, we store, access and use your personal information in Canada, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Some of our service providers may access, handle or store your personal information outside your province or territory or outside Canada for the purposes of the services they provide to us.
When we retain the services of a provider operating outside Quebec, we are responsible for ensuring that the personal information transmitted is properly protected, in particular with respect to generally accepted privacy principles.
C. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Dubois will keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was provided to us and for any authorized related purposes, unless otherwise required or permitted by law.
Once the purposes in question have been fulfilled, and subject to applicable regulatory provisions, your personal information is securely destroyed or anonymized (so that it can no longer be used to identify you for security purposes).
Please note that if your personal information is collected by a third party, it will be kept in accordance with that third party’s privacy policies and record retention requirements.
We would like to remind you that, unlike explicit consent, which does not expire, implicit consent expires after a maximum of 24 months, depending on the reason for which it was acquired:
- Transaction (24 months): purchase of a good or service, registration for an event.
- Interaction (6 months): information request.
8. HOW CAN YOU ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Under the Act, you have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you, subject to any restrictions provided by law.
Access or correction requests should be addressed in writing to the Dubois Privacy Officer, whose contact information is given below.
We will respond with due diligence and no later than thirty (30) days from the date on which your request was received, in accordance with applicable law.
Any refusal by Dubois to grant a request shall be explained in writing and shall indicate the provision of the law on which our refusal is based, the recourse available to challenge it and the time limit within which it must be exercised. Dubois also undertakes to assist you in understanding the refusal.
You may also access some of the personal information we hold about you through your online account(s). To access, update or correct this information, you must log in to your account and update your profile information and your preferences.
9. RECOURSE TO THE COMMISSION D’ACCÈS À L’INFORMATION
If you are not satisfied with how Dubois has handled your request to access or correct your personal information, in particular in the event of an unsatisfactory response or no response, you may apply to the Commission d'accès à l'information for a review of the disagreement.

10. CREDIT CARD SECURITY POLICY
Your credit card information is forwarded in the form of an encrypted email message to guarantee the confidentiality of the information contained therein.
Therefore, this message cannot be intercepted, altered or decrypted by an intermediary.
Your payment is made directly to a financial institution, which means your transaction is processed securely.
