Occultation Tarp

Occultation Tarp

The occultation tarps are effective in weed control by preventing the process of photosynthesis in plants. This is due to the opacity of the fabrics which prevents light from entering through it. The black color warms the soil more quickly to a very high temperature, which accelerates the decomposition of organic matter by activating microorganisms. This technique makes it possible to reduce or even eliminate the use of herbicides while preserving soil biodiversity.

These tarps can be installed in the fall or as early as possible in the spring, and it will take a minimum of 6 weeks for the grass and weeds to completely disappear.
